Join in with the Transition Tattenhall Mini Meadow Project
Transition Tattenhall are running a Mini Meadows project to get as many mini wild flower meadows around the village this summer.
Mini Meadows could cover public as well as private spaces, including the churchyard, roadsides, green spaces within village like Covet Rise, GP woodland area, Glebe meadow, as well as peoples own gardens.
This a Project to encourage people to either leave a small patch of their lawns to see what grows, or dig over a patch and sow wildflower seeds, or even just sow wildflower seeds in a pot.
We plan to organise a walk around the village on June 26thfor people to see the mini meadows and have information provided. Wildflower seed will be free to any participants, with an information pack.
A large zoom meeting for any one who might want to take part will be held on March 21st 7.30pm.
Seed could be ordered following this meeting.
At the large zoom meeting there will be a presentation on the benefits of wildflowers, and a talk about practicalities of growing wildflowers both annuals and perennials.
To see what other places have done check out Coddington churchyard which is currently covered in snowdrops , with crocuses and daffodils on their way.
If you are interested in either becoming involved in the organisation of this project, or want to take part in any way please let us know. We can send a zoom link for the March meeting, when we know who is interested.
