Between 2012 and 2018, Friends of Tattenhall and the village generally successfully repelled the Taylor Wimpey and Ashley Wall Planning Applications to the north of Tattenhall. Since then, the Tattenhall Neighbourhood Plan and the Cheshire West & Chester Local Plans were ratified and the number of new dwellings in the borough ensured the Housing Land Supply figures exceeded the 5-year minimum required. In April, the government imposed a much higher requirement for new dwellings in the Borough so that there is a doubt about supply availability. Developers are attempting to exploit this, and a couple of Planning Applications have been submitted around Tattenhall.
The first to be ratified is 25/01764/OUT to build 110 dwellings off Tattenhall Road, to the north of Greenlands. We (Ian Cross, Claire Russell, Mark Shepherd and Geoff Newman) are now reactivating as the steering group for Friends of Tattenhall – Gladman Development Group to oppose this latest planning application. As you probably remember, you can object on theCWAC planning siteor by letter.
When considering what to say we suggest three possible approaches.
1 Just object. Numbers count so a simple objection carries weight e.g. 'I oppose this application because it conflicts with the Tattenhall Neighbourhood Plan and Cheshire West & Cheshire Local Plan and would cause substantial harm to the character of the village and its landscape setting'.
2 If you have any evidence or can identify issues which no one else seems to have put forward please set them out in your objection – e.g. relating to flood risks or transport issues.
3. We are preparing a detailed objection and will let you know when we have submitted it. After that you can just comment online whether you agree.
URGENT: Deadline for objections is Thursday, 7th August
Please get Involved. This is a critical moment for our village. A second application is in progress for another 110-dwelling development by Taylor Wimpey off Tattenhall Road, behind Rookery Drive, and we would welcome collaboration with any other group opposing harmful development elsewhere in Tattenhall. Together, we can form a strong, village-wide body to protect our community.
Please respond to the email address FriendsOfTattenhall@gmail.com with any suggestions as to how we can co-operate.
Let's stand together to preserve the character and future of Tattenhall
