Tattenhall Together Again
Sunday 5th September 2-4pm
on the Flacca.

Tattenhall village has always come together at times of emergency as could be seen during the War Years. This year has been no exception with the emergency helpline, food bank, shop deliveries and neighbourly kindness. The village always worked hard and played hard and the annual Wakes were an example of this as can be seen in some of the pictures in the book "Tattenhall a Hundred Years in Pictures".

The Wakes were held in June around St Alban's day and there would have been a service followed by a procession with a brass band and children carrying flower wands. They would march through the village to the Flacca Field where they held sports for the children followed by tea behind the Bear and Ragged Staff with dancing until 9.00pm.

2021 seemed a good time to re-enact some of this custom but because of COVID restrictions it will be held on Sunday 5th September. There will be a procession to the Flacca field with a brass band and children carrying flower wands. Provided conditions are safe there will be stalls, games for the children, tea and cakes and donkey rides.

Tattenhall will be able to come together once again and hopefully enjoy the attractions and the company of others.
If you or an organisation you are involved with would like to have a stall at the event, please email the Clerk to the Council as soon as possible at tattenhallpc@outlook.com.
