Anyone who ventured out over the Bank Holiday cannot have failed to notice the state of both the roads and of the verges.
Chester Road
We are all aware of the flood on the Chester Road out of the village. This has taken on a completely new meaning this weekend and the flooding now represents a lake across both lanes of the highway. Water is also streaming down the road and running off the fields. Whilst we appreciate that this cannot be repaired until a spell of good weather, there is absolutely no harm in continuing to report this on the CWaC Website as a priority (together with potholes) CLICK HERE
Road Closure on A41 for up to 10 Nights at Milton Green
We have reported previously on this issue and signage is now in place warning everyone of the upcoming night time maintenance to repair the bridge which is badly damaged near Applegates. A reminder, therefore, the A41 will close overnight at Milton Green from Saturday 7 April for up to 10 nights between 9.00pm and 6.00am.
Closure of Barbour Square Car Park
On Sunday 15th April, essential white line painting in the Barbour Square Car Park will take place. This is the area behind Alison's Country Kitchen, Salon Vie and the Chemist. The car park will not be accessible from 7am on the Sunday until midnight. However it will be open as normal on Monday morning.
Dropped Litter and Fly Tipping
The volume of litter on the grass verges and the instances of fly-tipping continue to be of concern. Whilst this is not specifically a local problem (anyone driving down the A55 this weekend would have seen the verges strewn with litter and the hedges decorated with discarded plastic), we remind everyone to be mindful of disposing of unwanted items sensibly. This too can be reported CLICK HERE and (HERE).
