Tattenhall Annual Show
This will be held at the Barbour Institute on September 7th 2025. The colourful front page has again been designed by a pupil at the Park School. This show was first started in 1895(aLthough records are a little hard to find) and at the time was very much a rural farming show with animals and a gymkhana. It gradually changed , then lapsed for a while. Starting up again as the Horticultural Society Show. Now it is the Village Show- open to anyone. It celebrates a wide range of life and culture in the village, continuing a long tradition of village life.
Even first time exhibitors have won prizes.
Now is the time to think about what you might enter- crafts, art works, photographs.
When it comes to things from the garden that is a bit more difficult to plan, the weather has certainly affected gardens and who knows what will be around in September. There may be a glut of tomatoes, marrows, perfect onions! We will find out on the day.
This year there is a new trophy for the Best in Section in the vegetables in memory of Jim Harris, who for many years supported the show, and won a huge number of trophies!
So access the schedule and print it off for yourself- a small number of schedules will be available from the post office .
