Thom Morton at SPAR on the High Street has re-launched the plastic bag initiative for 2018.
We publish below the details for this, the third consecutive year in which Thom has again supported our community.
Many of you will know that since the launch of the single-use plastic bag initiative by SPAR, not only have the monies raised supported TWiG (Tattenhall Wildlife Group) in their valuable conservation work within the village but they have also provided fantastic wooden bench seating for the new Tattenhall Playground.
The volume of plastic bags and plastics generally has never been more high profile. For those of you that are new to Tattenhall or who didn't pick up on this feature previously, SPAR charges 5p for single-use plastic carrier bags. This action is purely voluntary on the part of SPAR and, following Defra's guidelines on the deduction of reasonable costs, SPAR Tattenhall has donated all the proceeds to good causes, particularly environmental causes.
