Message from Cheshire Police – Key-less Entry Systems.

As an owner of a car like this, I wanted to share this recent update from Cheshire Police. I, for one, will be acting on it.

"Recently we've seen an increase in cars with key-less entry systems being stolen, which enable criminals to drive the cars away without breaking into homes to steal keys.

Some tips for owners of cars with key-less entry systems include:

• Keep both sets of keys in a Faraday bag. They block the signal from the fob and are widely available.

• Contact your dealer for information and guidance regarding the digital features in your car. Have there been any software updates you can take advantage of?

• Check if your key-less entry fob can be turned off. If it can, and your dealer can confirm this, then do so overnight.

• Keep an eye out for suspicious activity in your neighbourhood and report anything unusual to us by either calling 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
