Those of you that are eagle-eyed, will have seen the recently posted signage relating to 'Jubilee Wood' and noticed contractors on site erecting new fencing and gates.
Bolesworth Estate, in conjunction with the Woodland Trust and TWiG (Tattenhall Wildlife Group), are planting 750 trees to extend Jubilee Wood.
Fencing work started this week and the trees will be planted in February.
This is a superb initiative in support of biodiversity, climate change and continued flood mitigation work in Tattenhall.
For newcomers to the village, Jubilee Wood (now well established) was planted in 2012 and in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. At that time, some 1200 trees were donated by the Woodland Trust, Bolesworth Estate and CWaC. In addition, a young Oak Tree was also planted within Jubilee Wood just last year in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee.
Thanks to
* Bolesworth Estate for supporting and progressing the extension to Jubilee Wood
* The Woodland Trust for funding the fencing work and in providing the trees
* TWiG for their continued conservation and management work on this site and in arranging the upcoming tree-planting initiative
* Robin Langford, for releasing part of his land to enable and support the extension to Jubilee Wood
