Last Friday, for its quarterly business lunch, members of the Tattenhall Business Club joined forces with the Chester Business Club at Rowton Hall Hotel.
The guest speaker was Jay Allen. Jay served in the British Army for over 12 years as an Advanced Trauma Medic, until a series of incidents saw him medically discharged in 2004.
However, rather than use this as an excuse to 'give up' he has gone on to become a global award -winning motivational speaker, author, and serial entrepreneur!
Since leaving hospital, Jay has either bought, acquired or set up from scratch, four of his own businesses, co-founded two others and currently sits on the board of another! Rather than shy away from his past, Jay remains true to his Corps motto within the Army 'In Arduis Fidelis' – 'Faithful throughout Adversity' and proudly speaks of his battle for acceptance and understanding in civilian work entrenched in stigma and preconceived, antiquated perceptions regarding mental health.
His talk on Friday was entitled ''Warning – your marketing plan might be working'; in which he discussed the importance of understanding who your customers and potential customers are when creating and developing your marketing plan.
