The beautiful village of Tattenhall in Cheshire
Webteam: May 2020
You might recall that we featured a post relating to a Racing Pigeon that had taken up residence in a Tattenhall resident's poly tunnel during the Bank Holiday Weekend CLICK HERE.
Thanks to everyone for your positive comments on Facebook.
Socially distanced, the pigeon was enticed into an unused wire dog kennel. Only then were we able to fully read the telephone numbers etc which were to be found on the rings of the bird (after-all, as some of you had said, the bird might be a 'champion').
'Champion' it was not, but a 'good bird' it was.
On Sunday, the bird departed from Tattenhall.
Our Tattenhall resident was telephoned by the owner first thing on Monday morning, confirming that the Racing Pigeon had safely returned home — TO BIRKENHEAD!!!!
What a remarkable story — thanks to everyone for your terrific support and advice.
