Jill Hughes: March 2018
The thaw set in, so thankfully we can go ahead with our walk which will be led by Sue Mort.
The walk starts from the car park at the Lockgate Coffee House on the A49 at Beeston.
We can leave our cars there whilst we do our walk. From Tattenhall head to Huxley and then Tiverton. Turn right at the T junction onto the A49 and the coffee shop is at the bottom on the hill on the left, just after you cross the canal and before the railway bridge.
The walk is about 4miles and should take around 2 hours. The first stretch is along the canal, followed by a country road into Bunbury. From the church we head across fields to the A49 — previously we saw no livestock, a few stiles, and it good going underfoot. Unfortunately the last 10 minutes or so involves walking alongside the busy A49, but there is a footpath all the way.
Afterwards we can have lunch in the cafe. It is very nice and they serve soup/sandwiches/toasties etc. We will give them numbers at the start of the walk so they can save some seating for us.
Meet behind Alison's by 9.45am or at the cafe by 10.00am.
As usual, please let me know if you can come and where you will meet since bad weather can result in a change of plan -- jillhug@ hotmail.co.uk or 01829 770634
