Below are the details of our next, longer, walk being led by David and Linda Bish.

The walk this Thursday, is mainly flat and on good paths with two steepish sets of steps and a short hill right at the end.
Meet either at the car park behind Alison's Cafe to car share by 9.15 or at the pay and display car park nearest the Anderton Boat Lift, Northwich (CW9 6FW) by 10:00 where toilets are available.

About 17 miles from Tattenhall, You can go via Huxley and Tarporley and onto the A49 towards Warrington. Turn right onto the A556 Chester Road (by Blakemere Village), beware of the speed cameras! Shortly after the start of the dual carriageway, bear left onto the A559 through Hartford and on towards Northwich, turning left at the brown sign for the Anderson Lift onto the B5374, then keep following the signs till you reach the car park. Car Parking is £3.00 all day. Jill Hughes mobile, should anyone require it, is 07801934974.

Walk is approximately 7miles and takes us along the Trent and Mersey canal, into Hopyards Wood, Marbury Park, around Neumann's and Ashton's Flash, then around Carey Park and back along the River Weaver to the Anderton Boat lift where the cafe will be open at the visitor's centre.

The walk should take approximately 3hrs, boots will not be required unless it's very wet beforehand. Today there were rabbits, ducklings, a Heron, kingfisher and a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker. There are at least 3 hides that could be visited and people may like to take binoculars. No stiles, cows or muddy fields.

A suggestion is at least a drink is taken, and perhaps a packed lunch, for those who would prefer their own, rather than use the Cafe's at either the Visitor centre or the nearby Stanley Arms Pub or Garden Centre after the walk.

Please let Jill Hughes know if you can come, and where you will meet.
