Calling all fruit & veg growers! Are your beans battered, courgettes cranky and your shallots......well, never mind.
It's the annual Village Show on Sunday 1 Aug and Tattenhall Allotments Association are putting on a free advice session in advance for anyone who's not sure what to do and how to enter.
Showing is great fun and really not at all difficult – you certainly don't have to be an expert grower to stand a good chance of winning. Kids are encouraged to enter too, and not just in the classes specially for them. People often think their produce is going to be nowhere near good enough but it is a village show after all, not Chelsea.
Just come down to the allotments site (Rocky Lane) onSaturday 24 July 11.00 – 12.00 and pick up tips from the experts. Free to everyone – just bring something to sit on and a thermos* and find out how simple it all is.
Show schedules de-mystified, tips on what the judges are looking for, avoid rookie errors and plenty of opportunity to quiz our experts. Plus the allotments are looking beautiful so you could have a mosey round afterwards. Dogs & kids very welcome but please keep dogs on a lead.
* We will have some tea & coffee available for a small charge, limited by the size of our hot water dispensers, so better to BYO if you can!
