We have been posting lots of information regarding summer holiday ideas.

And, regrettably the weather has taken a turn for the worse it would seem.

So, we are bringing together some of the summer events that have been advertised on Tattenhall Online – don't forget to keep looking at the 'Calendar' too .... you can use our 'Search Engine' facility on the Home Page to access fuller details of everything listed below.

Chester Castle Revealed
An exciting opportunity and a 'first' for Chester – pop down to see Chester Castle and enjoy a rare opportunity to tour this historic site (available until 3 September). Closed to the public for years, it would be foolish to miss such a fantastic opportunity.

Cycling Courses
CWaC, working in partnership with Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service, has launched a series of workshops to help children improve their cycling skills. The sessions will be held at Frodsham Fire Station from 7-11 August and are aimed at six to 12 year olds.

English Heritage Activities at Beeston Castle
Whether you just want to walk to the top of Beeston Castle, take a picnic and enjoy the views, or whether you want to be involved in one of their scheduled activities, Beeston is always a favourite. 'Armed and Ready' on 27-28 August between 11am-5pm, allows everyone to experience the sights, sounds and smells of life during the English Civil War as warriors and families set up camp in the castle grounds – book online and receive a 10% discount OR get involved in 'Hands on History – Outdoor Adventures'. This is a series of action-packed time-travelling fun events which will be delivered by the 'Hands on History Crew' throughout August – all from 11am-5pm.

ParkFest
ParkFest, celebrating completion of this fantastic playground, is scheduled for 10 September BUT we have been advised that there will be a soft launch during August to enable youngsters to enjoy this state-of-the-art facility during August. Directly we are given this date from the Playground Committee then we will advise you.

Annual Show
Never too early to start preparing with lots of categories on offer and many for children! For those of you with "driving me spare" kids, therefore, start thinking about a photographic entry, a drawing or painting of the local area, start to practise those special cup-cakes you want to enter or start getting creative with 'Vegesaurus Sculptures'.The Annual Show is held at the beginning of September.

Allium Summer Festival
Advertised for 27 August - this is a real family event – pop the date in your diary and don't let the children miss everything that will be available in the garden.

The Ice Cream Farm
Well, since Jonathan Fell is now in the Guinness Book of Records with almost 10,000 sq ft of ice cream heaven and record-breaking status, you simply have to pop down to the Ice Cream Farm for at least one treat over the summer! The Ice Cream Farm has recently made it into the top 20 most visited free attractions.

Walking The Sandstone Trail
We have featured the Sandstone Trail on many occasions and if it's good enough for Julia Bradbury then it's good enough for us – get the children up on the Sandstone Trail and enjoy what makes this part of Cheshire so special.

Ark Exhibition – Chester Cathedral
A fantastic FREE exhibition running throughout the summer until 15 October and featuring some fantastic sculpture installations within the setting of our historic Cathedral.
