Stand up for the community! Make a Difference!

Have you got strong views about your community? Would you like to stand up for what you think matters? Then why not consider being a Parish Councillor!

What are your thoughts about aspects of this your local area? Is it the impact of new house building, the need for more activities for young people, improving services for older people, making the roads safer because of increased volume, or ensuring that local businesses can thrive? Whatever needs changing or improving in the neighbourhood, you could be just the person to change it by becoming a local councillor.

Perhaps you are already involved in the community and local affairs and want to take the next step. Or you may be looking for a worthwhile and rewarding way to help your local community.

The current Parish Council meets every 2 months and has other informal meetings. The current members estimate they spend an hour a week plus the formal meeting.

Prospective Parish Councillors may submit their forms directly (see below) or through the Parish Clerk.€Full training is given to Councillors, the working environment is friendly and participation can be based around interests. There is no political party affiliation.

The Parish Clerk is happy to arrange meetings to allow people to get a councillor's perspective.

Who can be a Parish Councillor? To be a parish councillor you must be...

  • be at least 18 years old
