As was reported at the May meeting of the Parish Council, Operation SHIELD has been launched in Tattenhall.
Operation SHIELD is a CHESHIRE Police approach to property-marking and crime prevention.
The property marking kit is called Selecta DNA.
When used, the system is unique to an individual address and allows for identification of property in the event of it being stolen.
More importantly, however, it is to aid in the prevention of crime and act as a deterrent.
Tattenhall Parish Council has been instrumental and fully supportive of the roll out within the Parish. The cost of the programme has been met by the Parish Council and there will be no charge for accepting the kits when the team calls.
The distribution of the marking kit will be to every residential and farmhouse property and will involve a personal visit by a Police Officer, Police Community Support Officer or associated unit such as Community Safety Wardens.
