We are looking to find out which is the preferred spelling, and why, at the next meeting of the Tattenhall Garden Society. More importantly, when Martin Page talks to us on Wednesday 8th March, we hope to find out more about the two – or is it now three? – main groups of this wonderfully summery flower group. (I think they have the glamour of roses without the prickles but they have a lot more to recommend them.). Martin was until recently Chair of the Peony Society so if he doesn't have the answers and explanations on these general points or how to chose and grow them properly, no one will!
Our meeting is, as usual, taking place at the Barbour Institute, starting at 7.45 pm though the upstairs doors open 15 minutes or so earlier. This is to permit some chinwagging and warm drinks. Entry is free for members, but guests are welcome to pay on the door (£3).
We look forward to seeing you.
If you want to know more about the Gardening Society (regular talks, plant sales, annual show and the occasional trip) please contact Jen Benefield on 01829 770692.
One future date for your diaries is Saturday 13th May, when we shall hold the annual plant sale. Keep an eye out for precise details about this event, an occasion to buy vegetables, flowers, grasses, annuals, perennials and more at very reasonable prices.
