This new cafe  has opened in Tattenhall, it is  a small business set up by 2 young women who have known each other since they were  at school together at 12 –  Lucy Moon and Beth Landon.

They had  both worked in senior roles in retail, business development  and hospitality which gives them a strong grounding to develop such a business. They had always talked about working together and setting something up – and then they saw that this property was up for rent  So they looked at it and went for it, opening just two months ago. It has been  a great success. 

They have concentrated on buying local- cakes from the Cakery by Lucy in Tattenhall, bread and pastries from the Usher bakery and fruit and veg from  Hoole, coffee from Allcaps in Chester, milk from Peckforton farm.Their  bread arrives first thing and if you want some you have to get there early as it is very popular- but they will also reserve bread for customers and take orders. The name came after a long discussion – Lucy’s mother died 2 years ago and she wanted a name that would relate to her mother- something to do with the sky. Joining their surnames together – they did think of Land on the Moon – but this didn’t have anything to do with coffee – they had always liked CloudNine and linking that with coffee became Bean to  Cloud Nine.

Since opening they are planning to have evening events once a month. They started with a paint and sip (Mocktails) evening which was sold out and extremely successful. They are planning to do more, the next one  coming up is making your own bouquet of flowers in October.

They are also aware that there is nowhere for kids to meet in the village and have had thoughts about having a  once a week afternoon opening for adolescents coming home from school to meet up with their friends.  They also see the need for young Mums to have somewhere to meet up, so are thinking about how they might facilitate this.

The cafe has quickly become a meeting place for friends – the intimate nature of it means that people quickly talk to each other across the tables and make new friends.

They have yet to publish a menu as they are trying to gain information on what people would like to eat for lunch – currently they prepare sandwiches  and lunches on demand.
