It rained on The Mall in London and it poured in Tattenhall, but the Brits were not put off. The Park was the venue for Party on the Park, well organised by the Parish Council, and many Tattenhall residents and their friends turned out, despite the torrential rain. There was a Hog Roast, a Beer Tent, refreshment stall and lots of improvisation to keep the rain off picnics and others scrumptious offerings. Her Majesty even popped in briefly, hidden under a large umbrella.
It was an excellent celebration and showed, yet again, how well Tattenhall does on these occasions. With Union Jacks and bunting in the High Street too, again put up by our busy Parish Council, the village marked the national celebrations in true style.
Then all hands on deck to take down gazebos and tents, clear away rubbish and return the field to normal. Well done to all concerned.
