The beautiful village of Tattenhall in Cheshire
Jeanne Parsons: September 2016
Following the success of our first exhibition of 'Nostalgic Burwardsley Photographs' in March, you asked Terri Hull and Yvonne Keeping to create a second exhibition.
And so they have and judging from your reactions to Day 1, it does not disappoint! You arrived in great numbers, enthused at the variety of new material and now want them to publish their findings!
This exhibition includes the most amazing collection of old photographs relating to the social and economic history of Burwardsley; our tiny hamlet tucked up on the Sandstone Ridge. Each photograph has been painstakingly researched and includes a summary caption. Importantly, and what surprised many of you, is the sheer volume of new material that Terri and Yvonne have managed to unearth.
So, come along to Day 2:
*Sunday 9 October
*The Successfactory, Harthill Road, Burwardsley.
Admission £5 (£2.50 for children) and includes an exhibition programme, a slice of delicious homemade cake and a cup of coffee/tea.
What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon, whilst enjoying spectacular views across the Cheshire Plain.
All proceeds from the weekend event will support the installation of a permanent and accurate Roll of Honour in tribute to the men of Burwardsley who died in both The Great War and WWII (Burwardsley has no War Memorial or Roll of Honour).
