'Tattenhall Hall' will be opening their gardens for the first time this year Today Sunday 29 May as part of the National Gardens Scheme Open Gardens for Charity. Since 1927 the NGS has raised more that £45 million for nursing and caring charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie.
The appointment of national treasure and cake Queen Mary Berry as the new President of the National Garden's Scheme has surely raised expections regarding the quality of cakes available on the day. Rest assured, however, that Tattenhall Guides who did a great job last year, will rise to the new challange!
The gardens are open from 2 – 5.30pm. Admission £4.50; children free. Home-made teas.
Here's what the NGS have to say about Tattenhall Hall – Plant enthusiasts garden around Jacobean house (not open). 4½ acres, wild flower meadows, interesting trees, large pond, stream, walled garden, colour themed borders, succession planting, spinney walk with shade plants, yew terrace overlooking meadow, views to hills. Glasshouse and vegetable garden. Wildlife friendly sometimes untidy garden, interest throughout the year, continuing to develop.
