Local Schools Plan to be OPEN on Tuesday 12 December

After an unexpected Monday snow/ice day, local schools are planning to open tomorrow, but not all will be business as usual due to exceptionally cold and icy conditions. Parents are urged to check social media and school websites in the morning, as any changes will be communicated there first. To recap:

BISHOP HEBER:
As previously reported, Bishop Heber High School plans to be OPEN on Tuesday, 12 December with the following conditions:

1. Non uniform to be worn -- wear lots of warm clothing (layers) and suitable footwear for slippery conditions. Staff and students will have to be sensible and careful walking around the site.
2. Bring a packed lunch -- we have had no food deliveries today (or tomorrow) -- we will be able to serve some basic hot food (e.g. pasta).
3. Transport -- at this time all we know is that the buses are likely to run on the main routes only -- we will send a list of stops that will pick-up / operate tomorrow later this afternoon.
4. School will close at 4.30 p.m. -- after school clubs and the Library will not be available.

TATTENHALL PARK PRIMARY:
1. Non-uniform is okay -- it is more important for students to be warm. Please make sure they have warm coat, hat, gloves, scarves and wellies or outside shoes with grips, as well as a pair of shoes to change into in school.
2. Due to today's closure, the KS1 Christmas play has been re-scheduled to 2pm and 6pm on Monday 18th December.

HUXLEY CE PRIMARY SCHOOL:
Huxley CE Primary School has issued the following statement on its website: Due to local temperatures dropping to -7 degrees tonight through to 10am, we are currently aiming to open at 11am tomorrow but will confirm this by 9.30am once we are able to assess the weather conditions. Keeping the children, parents and staff safe is our highest priority.

ABBEY GATE COLLEGE:
Both sites plan to be OPEN on Tuesday, 12 December. Any changes to normal operating procedure will be communicated via website, Facebook, Twitter and text messaging system.

THE KING'S SCHOOL CHESTER
The King's School will be open as normal.

TARPORLEY HIGH SCHOOL
Tarporley High School has not updated its website information as of this posting, however the school's Twitter feed is active and up to date.
