A quick update regarding our lead story today concerning a 'Letter to the Editor' which was received in relation to the new Playground.

The Parish Council will, of course, respond to any comments rethat any comments received from residents with regard to the playground will be passed directly to the Parish Council for their response

Feedback to our recent questionnaire welcomed Tattenhall Online as a forum in which to make measured and constructive comment.

In this respect we have received comments regarding the new Playground. The contributor is keen to applaud the work of the Playground Committee but would welcome a response to the following questions.

'The efforts of the Community Park Group in pushing ahead so successfully over a fairly short time scale in developing a play area on our park are to be admired.

Like many residents we have followed the progress with interest and tweeted encouragement and raised issues over the last year.

The big questions in our minds remain:

Who is the playground for?

Who is going to use it?

How busy will The Park become at weekends especially?

Will the facility become a second stop off for Ice Cream Farm visitors on their day trip to Tattenhall?

Will Tattenhall Road become a busy car parking area over our holiday weekends?

The publication of the final playground layout on Tattenhall Online raised a big concern in this house when we realized that the plan proposes a zip wire feature so close to the homes on the village end of Tattenhall Road. (click on image to enlarge)

We have to accept that on occasions close proximity to the park means more noise, especially when the playground is used by teenagers or young adults after dark or on a visit to the pub.

A zip wire is going to be a popular feature with all ages and, no doubt, a number one feature for older age groups.

Siting the zip wire so close to residents' homes appears to be inconsiderate and poorly thought out'.
