The Tattenhall Local History Website was established in 2012.

It was always our intention to house the local history of our village in one place for the following reasons:

  • to provide a lasting legacy, committed to promoting and showcasing the heritage of Tattenhall and its immediate locality
  • to provide a platform for raising awareness and curiosity about our local heritage through the collection and preservation of archival material

During the last 6 years, therefore, we have worked hard to include information regarding the political, economic and social history of Tattenhall. Sometimes, our trail starts with but one photograph, one postcard, one artefact or one piece of oral history. We are indebted to our contributors.

The work undertaken on this site is purely voluntary and to sustain the site requires the annual payment of the necessary domain host costs. We are delighted, therefore, that for 2018-19, our Inspired Village (newly named 'Gifford Lea') has very kindly agreed to cover our outgoings and for that we thank them.

If you are new to Tattenhall or a new resident to 'Gifford Lea', then take a look CLICK HERE

Similarly, if you have any artefacts which you think might be of use to us, then please make contact through the contact facility on that site (recently upgraded) or through Tattenhall Online.
