Garden Society Annual Show

Tattenhall Gardening Society
The Society's Annual Show took place on Sunday and was a great success, with lots of entries in a variety of categories, splendid floral displays and an amazing variety of fruit and vegetables to admire. In addition, there was serious competition in the cookery and handicrafts sections, plus some interesting art and lots of photos to admire. There was an inspired selection of children's entries too. The Tattenhall Country Market was present, with tempting of cakes, jams etc. Teas were provided by the WI.
There was a wonderful turnout of villagers and friends, perhaps there to spot if a family entry had been given 1st, 2nd or 3rd in category, or had even won best in section, but mainly to take the chance to catch-up with friends and other Tattenhallers after the summer holiday period and enjoy a real village event.

The Gardening Society autumn programme starts on Wednesday 12 October with a talk about 'climbers and wall shrubs'. Meetings are held in the Barbour Institute from 7.30pm. Look out for further details on tattenhall.org nearer the time.
