From September, many families will be entitled to 30 hours of free Nursery Care (including before and after school care) for 38 weeks of the year (Equivalent to Term Times) which is an increase on the 15 hours that all families currently receive.

HOWEVER, not all families will be eligible:

Eligibility rules for 30 hours free childcare (Taken from government website):

  • Your child will be aged 3 or 4 when the scheme starts in your area
  • Both parents must be working – or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family
  • Each parent earns, on average, a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage
  • Each parent must have an annual income of less than £100,000
  • You live in England

Cheshire West and Chester Council need to know how many childcare places will be needed in Tattenhall (and elsewhere). In order to cater for those children who are eligible for 30 hours free childcare, the Council are asking that ALL parents who will have a 3 year old child in nursery from September 2017 to please complete the questionnaire found at the CWaC website. For more information about this consultation process and to access the questionnaire please CLICK HERE.

If you require a paper copy of the questionnaire, please contact the office of Tattenhall Park Primary.
