Cheshire wrapped up a convincing 8 wicket win in the Unicorns Championship at Tattenhall on Monday. Wiltshire were able to improve on their first innings 166, Ashur Morrison completing a second half century with 73 out of 233 but it left a modest total of 93 to win and Cheshire strolled to victory in the glorious Tattenhall sunshine with only 2 wickets down to complete a comprehensive victory.

Cheshire resumed day 2 on 252-9 and remarkably last wicket pair Ash Davis (33no) and Danny Woods (36) compiled the largest partnership of the match with 72 as they were parted on 303 for a first innings lead of 137. This completed a fine all round display for Davis as his inspired fast bowling display brought match figures of 11-119.

2 perfect days of weather and a fine Cheshire victory kept the 400 spectators happy and The Flacca looking an absolute picture. The new electronic scoreboard and Inspired Villages' vintage cricketer signage proving very popular with visitors (as well as free Cheshire Farm ice cream) to make sure everyone enjoyed a taste of the unique Tattenhall hospitality.

Many thanks to all who contributed to a successful County match; Brian, John and Grant for their long hours behind the scenes and to our sponsors Inspired Villages for their commitment to this and forthcoming events over the next 3 years. We look forward to seeing you all at the Junior Cricket Festival on 24th July (our thanks to Andrew Hull and Keith Titchener for the great images).
