Chess Set Exhibition a Great success

Not many words are needed, a few images will suffice to illustrate the fabulous Chess Set exhibition in the Barbour last Sunday.

According the visitors nobody expected so much variety in the sets Tattenhall Chess player Klaus had assembled. Thirty Sets from his own collection and twenty loans.

For centuries artists around the world have been inspired to carve, mould or turn Rooks, Queens or Pawns into striking pieces. Not to mention chess merchandise including the Transformers, the Simpsons or Lord of the Rings: all represented in Chess Sets.

For the players Chess is a game of strategy. For everyone else it is a game of beauty.
