Tesco bag of help

Earlier this year, 'Tesco' teamed up with the community charity 'Groundwork UK' to launch its 'Bags of Help' initiative across England and Wales.

Thank you so much for voting for our Tattenhall Library Community Project.

CWaC (Cheshire West and Chester) Libraries are delighted to announce that after a vote in the Chester Tesco stores, the 'Grow Tattenhall Library Project' has been awarded £8000.

We will now be able to work toward creating an outdoor sheltered garden area which will open up our currently small library into a wider community space. This space will also enable the community to partake in social activities such as outdoor rhymetimes and reading groups, as well as providing volunteering opportunities for all ages to maintain and develop the garden.

We also hope to deliver a programme of events such as gardening clubs, reading groups and arts activities. The space will also enable the adjoining school to bring classes over to use the library, a place to meet your local PCSO or councillor.

Next steps!
We are looking to create a working group, made up of interested members of the local community to help deliver the project. We hope that the group will meet in early May in the library.
