The beautiful village of Tattenhall in Cheshire
Webteam: May 2018
A resident has shared the following with us and the Police have been informed.
Those of you with children attending the Tattenhall Park Primary will have read the recent newsletter in which 'Stranger Danger' advice was issued.
Whilst it is currently half term, there was an incident in the village only yesterday.
A boy was quite shaken up as a white van with two men (their faces covered), drove very slowly beside him. They had a mobile phone and they were possibly taking pictures. The boy was returning home from a friend's house. He did the right thing and is to be commended — he immediately ran back to the friend's house and was accompanied home by an adult. The boy is absolutely fine but obviously quite shaken.
The Police have been informed.
There may be a completely logical explanation to this incident but, in the current circumstances, it is reasonable to remind everyone to be extra vigilant and to raise general awareness with any youngsters.
There is a Police file and it also seems perfectly reasonable to remind everyone that if you spot any such incident it might be worth trying to take a photograph, think about the number-plate of the vehicle etc so that the Police can follow up anything suspicious.
Our Community Police Support Officers attend Parish Council Meetings and it will be raised at the next meeting on Monday.
We all want our village to be as safe as possible and we can work together to ensure that nothing untoward happens to our children.
