There's light at the end of the tunnel; or perhaps it's been blocked.
Repairs are now underway to the hole in the A41 in Christleton, which has delayed motorists since July and which has caused such distress to many residents in rat-run Christleton.
The complicated leak in the canal was fixed by the Canal & River Trust and the ground has dried out so that the Council's Highways team has now been able to start to repair the hole itself.
The works will be complex as there are lots of services under the surface, as well as water and gas mains, power and telecommunication cables are at the site. These will need to be supported while the work takes place.
CWAC should soon be able to provide more information about how long the repairs will take.
