Did you know -Tattenhall Online – the village website started in 2015, it is 10 years old this year. Developed by the Tattenhall Business Alliance based on the village website of Audlem. It has grown exponentially and only after the first year had received 100,000 visitors! The Tattenhall Online Team received the Village Cup in 2016 for "their vision and commitment in developing and maintaining the website which had become an important source of information in the village." It also received a vote of thanks during the pandemic from the Tattenhall & District Parish Council for keeping the villagers uptodate with the latest news, village developments, business updates & deliveries.
It was set up to celebrate the village in all sorts of ways. It has recorded sporting success – footballers, cricketers, olympians and a tennis player who have grown up in the village and those villagers who have won community awards. It has articles about events and businesses in the village as well as the surrounding area, but also things that have wider impact. some of the most popular articles are about outstanding individuals who have made their mark in the community.
One interesting fact is that it reaches all around the world – in 2020 there was confirmation that it even reached Invercargill at the southernmost tip of New Zealand.
It is produced by a group of volunteer duty editors who generate articles each day for the website. We are always looking for volunteers. ( See contact details below)
Did you know about the benefits of the website as opposed to instant social media -
Articles are always available- unlike social media they do not instantly disappear, in fact you can look back at all the articles that have been published since 2015.
There is a search function for this at the top of the page. Visitors to the site can keep looking – one about The Bear this year had over 4600 visits, the usual amount each day is between 250 – 500 or so, but as articles are always accessible- the visits continue.
If you access the website on your Phone on the top right hand there are three bars next to the f (Facebook sign) this gives you menu access to News, Directories, Calendar of what's on etc.
Did you know – It is not just news and events – if you scroll to the bottom of the page you will find links to the information about:
It is full of local information and knowledge – made more interesting by input from the people who live here.
Did you know -The articles on the website are featured on our Facebook page @Tattenhall. The largest ever FB audience was in November 2023 when an article about the Tarporley & Beeston station receiving approval for re-opening received over 110,000 hits! Our Chair was so surprised, she was checking the hit count almost hourly!
Seriously, we need you to enable us to provide this service. Share your stories, events, job advertisements to all in the village including those who 'do not do' social media.
Contact editor@tattenhall.org if you have local stories, features, events. Local businesses (CH3 9xx) can have their details added to the business directory, local organisations can have their details added to the clubs & societies directory.
