The cake is eaten, the fireworks are extinguished but none could say that 'The Vault' is anything short of a seamless, architectural achievement.
Throughout yesterday's planned 'Open Day' sessions, individuals flocked to 'The Vault' at St Alban's Church and rightly so.
Tattenhallers, whether they are churchgoers or not, hold dear this historic building which is a central feature of our community.
Much has been written during the three years of fundraising and in anticipation of the official opening but we thought it appropriate to convey the words of one resident who contacted us:
'...Congratulations are due to the Privy Council. I was able to visit the Vault this morning and can vouch for the new facilities, both plumbed and otherwise, being a positive asset for the village. Let's hope that ... all sections of the community get to benefit from the church extension. By the way, the displays and archaeological finds telling the story of the Vault's inception and build were a nice touch ...'.
