Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer, Youth Fed, Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM RoadSmart) and other emergency services will be hosting a free event to help 18-29 year olds develop their driving skills and confidence. Funded by the Commissioner, attendees will take part in interactive sessions with Cheshire Constabulary, Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service (CFRS) and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). They will also benefit from practical driving sessions led by IAM RoadSmart.
Statistics from CFRS show that in 2021, 26% of incidents on Cheshire's roads that led to death or serious injury involved young people aged 17-25. The aim of the event is to put the fun into driving for young people by boosting their driving skills and confidence.
There will be four sessions throughout the day:
The event will be held on Saturday 18 November, 9:30am-1pm at Safety Central, Cliff Lane, Lymm, Warrington, WA13 0TE.
Spaces are limited and attendees are asked to register for the event at opccmediadesk@cheshire.police.uk or 01606 364011
