Thank you to all who donated books, volunteered over the weekend and, of course, stocked up on books at the recent fundraiser held at the Barbour.
We raised an amazing £461 and have donated the leftover books (we received an awful lot of books!) to the British Heart Foundation, Hope House Hospice and Oxfam. And so, our minds turn to a Jumble Sale, which we are asked about on a weekly basis!
In the current climate it is thought that we will struggle to get the huge number of volunteers needed to run such a large event but it is obvious that there is demand in the village both for getting rid of stuff and finding that hidden gem (one man's trash is another man's treasure and all that).
And so, we are reaching out to see if there would be any takers if we ran a couple of car boot sales? We've looked at how we think it could work...
