Apple press Saturday at Tattenhall Allotments

• with absolutely wonderful hot bacon baps and refreshments.

And what a thrill to cut up the apples, grind them in the grinder, and press them – with two different presses in use. Then sampling the natural apple juice – pure heaven, despite the rain!

A great community atmosphere all day, with people chatting, getting to know each other, and putting the world to rights; and inquisitive and interested children raring to have a go! Such joy and enthusiasm was a delight to witness. A great family day for all who ventured out!
