Tattenhall Village Fete – St Alban's Church

What an answer to prayer! The rain stayed off for the afternoon, and hundreds called into the Rectory Garden to sample the food and refreshments, the music, the stalls selling a wide range of goods – and just enjoy the general mulling about, chatting and enjoying a great village event.

The Zimbabwean singers enchanted the crowd with their captivating music – with members of the crowd joining in some of the songs that had repeated phrases. The background music and compering also helped to keep the day zinging along – just amazing to have all this in our village.

And of course the ability to sample tasty Zimbabwean food was, as always, fabulous!
Scones, cakes and meringues with tea and other hot and cold drinks were also served from the Rectory conservatory. Burgers and hot dogs were available, and the Letters Inn had drinks and food too – so there was plenty of choice. And of course, tubs from the Ice Cream Farm were a 'hot' favourite too!

Stalls by Tattenhall and District ParishCouncil, TWiG, and all the events that take place at church, and those selling plants, cakes, jams and honey, bric-a-brac, clothes, children's toys and books all had many visitors. Face-painting was as ever popular with many children, as well as the games at the end of the Rectory Garden.

This was just one of the many events taking place in Tattenhall on Saturday – all the more impressive that the turn out was so good. Thank you to all of you who came and joined in

Well done St Albans! And all the many volunteers who helped set up, man stalls and clear away afterwards. And many thanks too to all those local businesses who helped by providing the amazing range of raffle prizes.
