You will recall that Tattenhall Online posted information for us regarding the U3A Walking Group which meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. Details of each walk will be included initially on Tattenhall Online but also on the U3A Website. We like to allow folks to try a couple of walks before they become a member – thereafter, regular walkers do need to be members of U3A. Unfortunately, however friendly your dogs might be, we prefer that dogs remain at home (we feel we would be inundated).

So, try a walk with U3A this Thursday, 12 May. The beautiful image is from Pete's Montgomery Canal Photo Site.

The details of our walk are below and please let me know if you can come and where you will meet.
It is important that we know who is coming, so we can notify you of any change of plans.
My email address is jillhug@hotmail.co.uk.

Queen's Head and Maesbury
-This is a level there and back walk, along the very attractive Montgomery Canal, with an optional short diversion to another of St Winefred's Holy Wells.
-Distance: between 4-5 miles.
-There's an excellent cafe at the half way point for coffee etc, and a pub at the end if you want to stay for lunch.
-Meeting at 9.45 behind Alison's, or 10.30 at the start.
-The walk starts in the canal-side car park at Queen's Head, across the Road from the pub, GR 268339 on Explorer 240.
-Postcode SY11 4EB. Find this by taking the A483/A5 south from Chester & Wrexham and following the A5 towards Shrewsbury south east of Oswestry.
-After two miles take the left turn signed to Whittington and Queen's Head, follow the road round to the right and the Car Park is just round the bend, on the right.
-Please park on the downhill (left hand) part, as the rest is for the pub.
