U3A Walk – Thursday 26 July

Below are the details of our next long walk being led by Ian and Lisa.

The walk this week is 'Audlem and the Shropshire Union Canal'.

We suggest meeting behind Alison's at 9.15 on Thursday 26 July or meet in Audlem (FREE) car park off of Cheshire street (opposite the village chippy) ready to walk at 10am.

Directions via the picturesque route (approx 40 mins):

• Leave Tattenhall via Harthill, turn left onto A534.
• At the junction with the A49 turn right towards Whitchurch.
• At the crossroads by the Cholmondeley Arms Inn turn left onto Wrenbury road towards Wrenbury.
• Pass through Wrenbury then at the crossroads with the A530 Whitchurch road continue straight onto Sheppenhall lane.
• At the junction with the A525 turn left towards Audlem.
• In the centre of Audlem at the village square turn left into Cheshire Street.
• After a short distance turn left opposite the village chippy into the FREE car park with Audlem public hall on your left (toilets on the right).

This is an easy 5 and a half mile walk on field paths, tracks, tow path and byroads.

There are 12 stiles, some fields containing sheep and one small field with cattle (at time of recce) that we should be able to avoid.

We can eat at the end of the walk (5mins before car park) at the 'Shroppy fly' which is on the canal side.
