U3A walk Thursday 25th

U3A walk in the Peckforton Hills.

This walk is being led by Tony and Esme.
It starts from the Candle Factory (Cheshire Workshop) carpark, in Burwardsley, let Jill Hughes know if you need details of how to get there.

A varied 6 mile circuit to the north of Burwardsley passing between Peckforton and Beeston castles and including nice paths that they have never walked before. It goes through woodland, across fields into the grounds of Peckforton Castle, along quiet country lanes. An up and down route about 650' total descent/ ascent. One stepped downhill section is a bit steep. There are about 10 stiles mostly in good condition. When they recce'd it was not too muddy and they passed through 2 fields of very docile cows.

Take drinks/ snacks for a break during the walk.
There are three choices at the end of the walk.
1, lunch at the Pheasant.
2, lunch at the Candle Factory.
3, go home!
