U3A Walk – Thursday 24th Jan – Chester

The walk is 6 miles long and starts opposite Overleigh School in Handbridge, where there is adequate parking.

The walk is in and around Chester and follows the route of the Chester Memorial Poppy Walk. There are some steps but no styles and animals. We will stop for coffee at Towers Cafe by the Bell Tower in Chester. Lunch will be at the Ship Inn in Handbridge, about a third of a mile before the place the cars are parked.

To reach Overleigh School:

• Leave Chester down Bridge Street.
• Cross the Dee by the old bridge into Handbridge (past the Ship Inn).
• And follow the road up the hill and round to the right.
• Pass Eaton Road on the left and turn into Old Wrexham road on the left just before an orange cottage.
• The school, postcode CH4 7HS, is on the left a couple of hundred yards down.

Meet at Alison's by 9:20am or in the lay-by by Overleigh School, Handbridge to start walking at 10.00am.
