Below are the details of next U3A walk.

This walk is around 4 miles in Farndon. As we can get refreshments at Bellis's, you might only want to take a drink and snack.

I did the walk after recent rain. It was a little muddy in places but considering the rain, not bad at all and, of course, we have had some wonderful weather since. One style and loads of gates! No animals; only signs warning against bulls! These looked like they had been there for more than one season. It is probably a bit early for cattle to be out.

It took me just over 1 hour but will obviously take a group longer.

As usual, we can meet there at 10.00am (or 9.30am behind Alison's if we want to share lifts).

In any event, we should be finished in time for lunch at Bellis's! There is, however, a nice coffee shop in Farndon too. We can decide on the day.

The start is from the car park to the left of the Farndon/Holt bridge. Follow the B5130 through Farndon (the High Street) and turn left by the traffic lights before the bridge down to the carpark next to the river.

We plan to leave Alison's by 9.30am, or the Farndon car park at 10.00am.

It is important that everyone contacts me to let me know if you are coming since bad weather can mean a change of plans – jillhug@ hotmail.co.uk or 01829 770634.

Remember, you don't have to be a U3A member to join us for a couple of trial walks but after that, we do ask you to join the group.

We look forward to seeing you.
