Jill Hughes: January 2018
Here are the details of our first U3A walk of 2018 and a reminder that if you would like to join us on future walks, you are now required to be a member of our U3A group. This is because of insurance risks. We apologise if this causes some slight inconvenience — for information our membership secretary is Hilary Scarratt and contact details are on the West Cheshire Rural U3A site.
We are giving you plenty of notice because you have probably made lots of New Year resolutions and we know that you don't want to break them!
Thursday's walk (11 January) is a short flat walk of about 4 miles to get us all back into the swing of things!!
We will meet at Alison's at 9.30am or at Chester Zoo entrance by the silhouette of the Rhino at 10.00am.
There is plenty of parking availability and use of toilets at the beginning and end of the walk.
The walk takes us into a residential area (tarmac) as well as a field and a canal towpath. Quite muddy underfoot for a short while around a field.
No stiles or livestock (except those caged of course).
Coffee stop at Bembe Cafe after the walk i.e. just before turnstile entrance to Zoo, so just bring the refreshments you need for the walk.
As usual, please let me know if you can come and where you will meet since bad weather can result in a change of plan — jillhug@ hotmail.co.uk or 01829 770634
Happy walking in 2018!
