Wistaston 120/3 (20) vs Tattenhall 122/7 (20) – Tattenhall won by 3 wickets

Some sensible batting saw us progressing nicely towards the opposition's total of 120. However, approaching the final over we still needed 7 to win, with 4 wickets in hand and their best bowler coming on for his final over:

First ball a dot, the second a wicket.
In strides Fletcher to join Dan at the crease.
Third ball a wide, 2 runs to the total but not re-bowled, leaving 5 to win off 3 balls.
Fourth ball a dot – 5 to win off 2 balls.
Fifth ball was over shoulder height, so 2 runs for the no-ball but in a Stokes-esque manner, Fletcher hooked the ball towards the boundary, and the capacity crowd were on their feet as it bounced over the boundary rope for an additional 4!

A Tattenhall win with 1 ball to spare.

An all-round good performance: everyone contributing something, with a very tight finish on a sunny night – couldn't really ask for anything more!
