Thanks to everyone who continues to support Tattenhall Wildlife Group (TWiG) regarding our bumper crop of coppiced hazels.

This year, the monies donated will be split between:

*TWiG's continuing conservation work in the Parish and
*The Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal Fund

So, if you are now thinking about bean poles etc. TWiG is asking for the following donations:

*7ft poles @ £1.50 each
*6ft poles and below @ £1 each
* Pea-sticks – bunch of 10 @ £5

This is a truly sustainable initiative and is part of TWiG's management plan for Jubilee Wood. The coppiced hazels let light into Jubilee Wood, increase woodland plant biodiversity, and will continue to grow for coppicing again in 7/8 years time. In addition, it is using a locally produced source of timber, replacing commercially produced products such as bamboo canes.

Coppiced hazel can be used in a multiplicity of ways:
*Bean poles
*Sweet Pea Teepees
*Fence posts
*Walking sticks
*Hurdle making
*Shelter poles
*Arches, tunnels

Contact TWiG to arrange collection at: twig20189@gmail.com or phone 01829 770026
