On 10th October, Transition Tattenhall held our first ever Engagement Day. Our aim is to do our bit to help fight climate change and promote sustainability on a local level. We wanted togather as many thoughts, ideas and concerns as possible and, together, create project ideas to form the starting points for our work. A huge 'Thank You' to everybody who attended – everyone brought lots of ideas and made it a very inspiring day. We can't wait to see some of these ideas become reality
We started off with 6 year old Bonnie Cooke reminding us all of the importance of protecting where we live. She was followed by Helen Tandy of Eco Communities UK who spoke of her experience starting off projects like this and shared words of encouragement.
The morning session generated a lot of views on aspects of the village that were liked and not liked, as well as a huge number of suggestions for new things people would like to see. We then had a great afternoon discussing these ideas and identifying project ideas that could bring some of them to life.
The day finished with a vote to find the most supported project ideas, as well as offers of support for, and involvement in individual projects.
A full list of the project ideas will be available on our website www.transitiontattenhall.co.uk shortly so you can see if there is anything you would like to get involved with. We will also be holding another event date coming soon, to further develop some of these project ideas and everybody is welcome.
Thanks to George Heywood from IMT International who kindly sponsored the day.
