Transition Tattenhall 3rd Annual General Meeting
Transition Tattenhall has been attempting to look at ways we as a community can take action to support each other and to at least make attempts to reduce carbon emissions which contribute to global warming.
We are all aware of the increased floods, here and around the world drought, fires and famines. Scientists know that our planet has warmed considerably and if nothing is done to limit carbon emissions, the temperature will continue to rise.
So living in Tattenhall means that you are already experiencing the effects of climate change. It is hard to think we can change governments – our own, let alone those of other countries but there are somethings we can take control of here.
Working as a community -
We can feel that we are not alone in our fears,
We can meet neighbours and set up support networks,
Think about ways to limit our carbon emissions.
We can help those who are struggling.
Robust social networks make communities more resilient.
Transition Tattenhall in partnership with others, has a number of activities already ongoing- the monthly Repair Cafe, Growing Children project at the Park School, Biodiversity group, Free Pantry, Wellbeing/Meditation , Community Energy Project, Waste and Recycling, Flooding and Development, Water Quality monitoring. Volunteers are always welcome.
Transition Tattenhall has now been operating as a Community Benefit Society for the last 3 years.
