Stage two of the Tour of Britain will take place in Wrexham, Cheshire and North Wales on September 4th as planned – but the route has changed since first advertised – check on the link below to get the latest details
Wrexham has never previously hosted a stage start of the race; its only previous appearance in the Tour came eight years ago, when it co-hosted the Grand Départ. The tour will now be travelling in a clockwise direction through Farndon, Churton, Aldford, Bruera, Gatesheath, nowpast the ice cream farm, Newton, Beeston, and on to Malpas, before returning to Wales and finishing in Wrexham. An estimated 10,000 spectators watched the previous stage in the area, so expect excitement and crowds!
The progress of the race will be managed by the Police as a rolling road block on the roads affected. In Cheshire this will involve an approximately 30 minutes closure at each location between 12.00 and 14.00 hours. Further details of the roads affected will be posted nearer the date.
