Last Saturday we reported the decision of the CWAC planning officer to approve the Barratt application to build 30 dwellings off Chester Road behind Grakle Croft. The reasons for this decision are unclear but there is a suspicion that Tattenhall's 'imaginary deficit' in our housing numbers may have been a significant factor!
A public examination of the soundness and legality of this plan by an Inspector acting for the Secretary of State, starts on Tuesday, 18th September and runs until Friday, 28th September.
The issue of Tattenhall's housing numbers is a timetabled number due to be discussed on Wednesday, 19th September starting at 2pm. This hearing will take place at the Riverside Innovation Centre, Castle Drive, Chester, CH1 1SL. Further information on attending this hearing will follow.
Meanwhile tonight's Parish Council meeting at 7.30pm in the Barbour Institute may cast more light on the Barratt Homes approval and the strange housing numbers situation. We may also learn more about the Parish Council's possible role in the Examination since Tattenhall's housing numbers and plans for future development are likely to be discussed.
Overall it is likely that this Parish Council meeting will be interesting and worth attending.
