SUPPORTING ST ALBAN'S
Tattenhall is a great place to live. I have loved it since we happened upon it when looking to relocate from Lancashire in 1981. The layout and structure has changed enormously during our years here but what does not change is the incredible community spirit which is particularly prevalent at this time of crisis.

The village helpline has loads of volunteers keen to help and run errands for people who can't go out. Friends and neighbours shop for those in deeper isolation or a higher risk category and people pick up the telephone to chat and check all is well with those living alone. St Alban's too has been included in this support with offers of help with church jobs, donations of goods for the Food Bank as well as financial donations. This unfortunate crisis has given us the time to stop and consider what is important.

It is ironic that we do not have the church at our disposal when it is absolutely the place to turn to if we want time to sit and think, give thanks and in some cases mourn. Perhaps it is because the church isn't available people have realised how much it would be missed and this sparks a desire to give something back. This view is supported by the enquiries I have had which has prompted me to write this message. I can not deny I encourage financial contributions every chance I get but this is unprecedented. Pastoral care is still very much in evidence but the church building is inaccessible. St Alban's income comes solely from weekly giving via the collection plate, pledged monthly contributions going straight into the bank and fund raising activities. With no weekly collection money and absolutely no chance to fund raise there will be a dramatic drop in income. Expenditure, however, will remain the same. This is the ideal time to put thoughts of donating into action especially if you would like to make a one off payment.

We understand that people are listening to Fr Lameck's Services, Sermons and thoughts from further afield. Unfortunately we have not been able to set up a Just Giving Page on this occasion so please post or drop a cheque off to me at 6 Brockway East, Tattenhall CH3 9EY. If you prefer to contribute straight into the Church Bank account I can give you details. Regular Church Attendees who give every week please do continue to put your gift aside . I shall be very pleased and grateful to retrieve it from you when we are back to normal!
